Synopsis: In a small college town, a group of misfit students get stuck working at the college’s fine art gallery over the Christmas holiday. When you think of Miami, you think of its vibrant nightlife in the historic Ocean drive which was popularized by the movie “Scar Face”. And the luxury hotels, restaurants and nightclubs are among the best in the world. Miami is definitely the perfect destination to achieve luxurious settings for filming.

However, that comes with a price. These establishments doesn’t come cheap. There’s no low budget production discount here….unless of course you are friends with the owner.

You can blame that to the Miami’s tourism economy that never sleeps. It’s a year round business that is usually busy 24/7. So it’s much more difficult to secure filming in these locations and better yet asking for low rental price.

South Beach Miami has recognizable landmarks. So filming in a corner of the street instantly creates identity that the location is in Miami. The local talent pool is also vibrant. Walking down the street, you’ll quickly notice beautiful-exotic supermodels living and working locally.

Tampa's world class beaches

Luxurious Beach Mansions

Similarly, Tampa Bay area (Clearwater and St. Petersburg) – not many people know this — can pose for a Miami look with much added advantage.

Clearwater beach is voted the best beach in America. Its shoreline can look like it’s filmed in Hawaii. There city have so many available luxury mansions for rent at less than half the price compare to Miami.

If you want to film a more historic European landmarks, St. Petersburg is just half hour away.

Also, it is typical for European women to land in Tampa to get themselves started in America. Then they eventually move to Miami. So casting a European exotic supermodel for 10th of the price is only achievable in Tampa.

Flights to Tampa cost cheaper than Miami. And the five star hotels are 75% cheaper than in Miami.

Best of all, to find a secluded beach to film in is within minutes of drive compare to Miami.

When you are deciding on whether to film in Miami or Tampa consider the things we mentioned above. These can make a difference in maximizing the dollar to value ratio.
